On October 5, 2020, 21-year-old Daejour Smith, a Black male, was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Lowe's store in South Philadelphia. He was an employee at Lowe's and was shot multiple times around 1 p.m. following an argument. Daejour was rushed to Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead later that afternoon.
