On December 24, 2018, Birmingham police officers responded to an auto detail business where they discovered the body of 39-year-old Adrian Deon Johnson. Johnson had attended a party at the business the previous night. A friend returned to the shop on Christmas Eve morning and found Johnson unresponsive around 9 a.m., prompting a call to the authorities. Upon arrival, officers pronounced Johnson dead at the scene.
