On March 23, 2019, at approximately 11:25 p.m., Birmingham police officers responded to a report of a person shot near 3rd Avenue West and 1st Street West. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Christopher Watson lying in a grassy area, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Watson was transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
