In the late hours of a March weekend in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of 31-year-old Christopher Watson was tragically cut short by gunfire. On Saturday, March 23, 2019, Watson was shot during a violent night in the city that saw another man killed in a separate incident within hours.

The shooting occurred in the 1800 block of Bessemer Road. Officers from the Birmingham Police Department's West Precinct were dispatched to the scene following a report of a person shot. Upon their arrival, ...
