On March 20, 2024, at approximately 6:28 p.m., Montgomery Police officers responded to a call in the 4000 block of Oconee Drive, near the intersection of Lower Wetumpka Road and Alabama River Parkway. Upon arrival, they discovered 68-year-old James Allen Walker suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.
