In the winter of 2013, a night of violence at a Montgomery, Alabama nightclub tragically cut short the life of 20-year-old Timnarius Q. Hamilton. The male victim was one of three people fatally shot on December 28, 2013, at the Centennial Hill Bar and Grill. Also killed in the shooting were 21-year-old Kimberle Briauna Johnson and 22-year-old local rapper Glenn Lamar 'Doe B' Thomas.
The investigation into the triple homicide led to the arrest of three men: Darius Thomas, Jason
McWilliams, and Taboris Mock. The motive for the shooting was reportedly a dispute that began after a bottle was thrown inside the club. In the aftermath of the violence that claimed three lives, the community was left searching for answers and justice.
In January 2018, a significant development occurred in the case when one of the suspects, Darius Thomas, then 29, accepted a plea deal. He pleaded guilty to the murders of Hamilton, Johnson, and Thomas. Prior to his sentencing, Thomas offered an apology to the mothers of his victims. He was subsequently sentenced to 85 years in prison for his role in the deadly shooting. The legal proceedings for the other two suspects, Jason McWilliams and Taboris Mock, were reported to be pending. In the years following her son's death, Timnarius Hamilton's mother, Torian Hamilton, has become a vocal advocate against gun violence, channeling her grief into community action and founding the organization Positive Parents Have Power.
