On June 2, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Anniston Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting in the 300 block of Palmetto Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 50-year-old Dalriko L. Blake inside his residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. Blake was initially transported to Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center and subsequently transferred to another hospital for further treatment. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on June 20, 2024.
