On December 14, 2017, 22-year-old Zondrick L. Foster was fatally shot at the Samco gas station located at the intersection of Front Street and Chestnut Street in Anniston, Alabama. The incident occurred around 12:57 p.m., resulting in Foster's death at the scene. Another individual sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
