Mark's black 2009 BMW was found abandoned at Baker Beach on October 9, with his wallet, keys, and money still inside. The vehicle’s driver seat was positioned for someone taller than Mark, leading to speculation that someone else may have driven it to the location. Although Mark had been struggling with prescription drug abuse, having previously sought treatment at a rehabilitation facility in Arizona, he had shown signs of improvement after returning. However, he was reportedly unhappy with his job at the time due to a wage reduction.
