Daniel Lee Painter, a 50-year-old man from Bakersfield, California, was found dead on March 24, 2025, near the Kern Riverbed. Authorities responded to an unknown situation in the area east of the Chester Avenue bridge at approximately 9:45 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Painter’s body with an apparent gunshot wound. The Kern County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his identity.
