On June 16, 2024, 15-year-old Demarion Richardson was fatally shot at the Red Roof Inn on Woodward Avenue in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Officers from the Muscle Shoals Police Department responded to the scene around 7:28 a.m., discovering Richardson with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, where he succumbed to his injuries.
