On the morning of July 29, 2009, a domestic dispute in a Phoenix, Arizona apartment complex ended in a tragic loss of life. Danielle Sharon Gary, a 20-year-old female, was fatally shot in an act of domestic violence. The incident escalated to a murder-suicide, perpetrated by her 23-year-old boyfriend, Jason Perry.
Earlier that morning, the couple had returned from a birthday party and were heard arguing.
The altercation intensified, and Danielle was heard banging on doors, seeking help from neighbors. One neighbor opened their door to the sight of Danielle being shot twice. Following the shooting, Perry returned to his apartment and took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Inside the apartment at the time of the incident were Perry's two young children, ages four and one. Fortunately, neither of the children was physically harmed during the violent events that unfolded. The authorities investigated the case as a murder-suicide stemming from a domestic dispute. Due to the death of the suspect, Jason Perry, no arrests were made in connection with Danielle Gary's death.
