A holiday gathering on Christmas Eve in Phoenix, Arizona, turned into a scene of tragedy, leaving three people dead, including 47-year-old Maryalice “Molly” Cash. The violence erupted at a home near 2nd Avenue and Bethany Home Road, shattering the festive spirit of the evening. An argument broke out during the party, which escalated to a fatal shooting.
Maryalice Cash and her 83-year-old mother, Cynthia Domini, were shot by David DeNitto, who was identified as Cash's boyfriend.
After shooting both women, DeNitto, who was 47, then turned the gun on himself, taking his own life. Cash and her mother were transported to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to their injuries. DeNitto was pronounced dead at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The perpetrator, David DeNitto, was the widower of the former Maricopa County Attorney, Allister Adel. Friends and family of Maryalice Cash described her as a vibrant and caring person, with a strong personality and a deep love for her family. She was a well-regarded member of the real estate community, where she was seen as a mentor and a loyal friend. The incident left the community in shock, mourning the loss of a mother and daughter in a senseless act of violence.
