In a tragic and violent series of events that unfolded in Phoenix, a woman lost her life in what authorities have described as a murder-suicide. Fifty-two-year-old Sabrina Miran-Garcia was shot and killed at her residence located near 28th Street and Roeser Road. The incident, which also resulted in the death of another individual and the suspect, sent shockwaves through the community.
On that fateful Friday evening, the tranquility of the neighborhood was shattered by the sound of
gunfire. According to reports, 27-year-old Brian Santiago opened fire, fatally wounding Miran-Garcia in front of her house. A witness to the horrific event saw Santiago run back into the home after the initial shooting, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
Upon their arrival at the scene, Phoenix police officers made a grim discovery. Inside the residence, they found another victim, 53-year-old Gonzalo Augustin, who had also been shot and killed. In a different part of the house, they located Santiago, who had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The motive for the deadly attack has not been determined by investigators, and it remains unclear what, if any, relationship existed between Santiago and the victims. The investigation into the double murder and suicide is ongoing.
