In the early morning hours of Sunday, June 23, 2024, a birthday party in Alexander City, Alabama, turned tragic, ending the life of 26-year-old Chavorian Williams. The male victim, a resident of Tallassee, was attending a large gathering on Dadeville Road when a shooting occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. First responders found Williams with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
He was rushed to Russell Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the homicide led authorities to identify a suspect in the case. An arrest warrant for murder was issued for Keyuntae Marquise Bealey, a 27-year-old from Childersburg. The Alexander City Police Department, in partnership with the United States Marshals Task Force, located Bealey in Kent County, Michigan. He was taken into custody and held in the Kent County Jail to await extradition back to Alabama to face charges in connection with Williams' death.
Following his extradition to Tallapoosa County, Bealey was formally charged with reckless murder. Court documents allege that he fired an AR-style rifle into the crowd at the party, which resulted in the death of Chavorian Williams. A judge set Bealey's bond at $500,000. Funeral services for Williams were held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the First Assembly of God in Tallassee, with his burial following at the Tuckabatchee Cemetery.
