In the quiet community of Goldville, Alabama, a grim discovery was made on October 8, 2015, shattering the rural tranquility. Robert Wayne Mitchell, a 50-year-old man who had spent his life working in the logging industry, was found deceased in his mobile home. He was not alone; his sister, 48-year-old Dianna Mitchell Sharpe, was also found dead at the scene.
Both siblings had been fatally shot, marking a tragic end to their lives and the beginning of a homicide investigation that would quickly find its resolution.
The initial shock within the community soon gave way to a swift arrest. The suspect was a man who was intimately known to the victims: Dean Carl Stevens, Dianna's 53-year-old boyfriend, who also resided in the same home.
