In the late hours of a summer evening in Montgomery, Alabama, a violent encounter left a man fighting for his life. On July 1, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., police and first responders were dispatched to the 1200 block of Townplace Drive following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered 46-year-old Karim Seabrooks suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
He was a male victim of the city's ongoing struggles with gun violence.
Emergency medical personnel transported Seabrooks to a local hospital for treatment. For over a month, he bravely clung to life. However, despite the efforts of medical staff, his injuries proved too severe. On August 5, 2024, more than five weeks after the initial assault, Karim Seabrooks succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased. His death prompted the Montgomery Police Department to launch a homicide investigation into the shooting that had occurred weeks earlier.
In the wake of Seabrooks's death, law enforcement officials began their search for those responsible. Investigators have been seeking the public's assistance in identifying two individuals believed to be connected to the fatal shooting. In an effort to generate leads, authorities have circulated images of the two male suspects and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers has offered a $1,000 cash reward for any information that leads to an arrest. As of now, no arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the murder of Karim Seabrooks, and the investigation remains ongoing.
