On July 13, 2024, in Birmingham, Alabama, 28-year-old Arkia "Kia" Berry and her five-year-old son, Landon Brooks, were tragically killed in a shooting incident. The Birmingham Police Department reported that around 5:20 p.m., officers responded to a call about a car accident in the 1700 block of Indian Summer Drive.
