In the quiet town of Ohatchee, Alabama, a tragic event unfolded on the afternoon of August 10, 2024, leading to the death of 70-year-old Randall Ferguson. The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office received a distressing 911 call from a man who reported a double shooting at a residence on Taylor Road. The caller was identified as Tyler Ferguson, the 35-year-old son of the victims.
Upon their arrival at the home, deputies discovered Randall Ferguson deceased inside from a gunshot wound.
A further search of the property revealed his wife, Debbie Ferguson, on the back porch, also suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Gadsden Regional Medical Center in critical condition but ultimately succumbed to her injuries. All three individuals resided at the Taylor Road home.
Law enforcement officials took Tyler Ferguson into custody at the scene. He has since been charged with two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of his parents, Randall and Debbie Ferguson. He is being held at the Calhoun County Jail without bond as the investigation into the motive and circumstances surrounding the tragic event continues.
