In the early morning hours of Saturday, October 26, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in the 300 block of Waugh Street in Union Springs, Alabama. When the violence ceased, two young men, 19-year-old Adrian Dequon Tarver of Auburn and 19-year-old David Lamar Benton Jr. of Union Springs, lay dead. The incident, which occurred around 3 a.m., also left three other individuals wounded and in need of immediate medical care.
