On August 27, 2020, 29-year-old Johnarian Travez Allen was fatally shot in Union Springs, Alabama. The incident occurred near a gas station at the intersection of Underwood Avenue and Baskin Street around 7 p.m. According to Union Springs Police Chief Danny Jackson, Allen was walking near the gas station when 22-year-old Jeremiah Wesley Penn approached in his vehicle. A verbal altercation ensued, during which Penn allegedly shot Allen eight times. Allen was pronounced dead at the scene.
