On May 4, 2024, 18-year-old Auburn High School senior and National Honor Society member, Delvin Tarver, was fatally shot in Union Springs, Alabama. The incident occurred around 12:44 a.m. in the CVS parking lot on Baskin Street, where attendees of the Bullock County High School prom had gathered.
