In the late hours of Sunday, May 16, 2021, the life of 19-year-old Tatyana Francois, a Black / African American female from Pawtucket, Rhode Island, was tragically cut short. At approximately 11:30 p.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the night on Central Avenue, prompting calls to the Pawtucket Police Department. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a grim scene; Francois was suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel rushed the young woman to a nearby hospital in a
desperate attempt to save her life. Despite their efforts, Tatyana Francois succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The news of her violent death sent shockwaves through the community, as those who knew her remembered a vibrant and beloved young woman.
