On a late summer evening in Washington, D.C., tragedy struck a family from a neighboring Maryland community. Christopher Redfear, a 23-year-old African-American male from Capitol Heights, Maryland, was in the 5100 block of H Street, SE on the night of September 2, 2016. At approximately 9:30 p.m., the sound of gunfire echoed through the neighborhood, prompting calls to the Metropolitan Police Department.
