On June 27, 2016, 31-year-old Brendan James Doyle died in Anchorage, Alaska, during an encounter with law enforcement. Doyle was being sought on a federal warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Around 6 p.m., U.S. Marshals, accompanied by an Alaska State Trooper, approached Doyle's motorhome near an alley in the 900 block of East 12th Avenue, where he had been residing. As officers neared the vehicle, Doyle fatally shot himself.
