White/Caucasian male Benjamin Parson, age 39, was found on the morning of Sunday, September 11, 2016, in a parking area near the University of Alaska Southeast campus housing off University Drive in Juneau. According to police, he had a facial injury and appeared to have died from a gunshot wound; a firearm was recovered close to his body. His remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Anchorage for autopsy as detectives secured the scene and began their inquiry.
