White/Caucasian male James T. Newman, 23, was shot to death on July 6, 2023, in Juneau, Alaska. Police were called at about 10:17 p.m. to the 9100 block of Cinema Drive in the Mendenhall Valley, where officers found the 23-year-old dead of a gunshot wound. His death was the city's most recent fatal non-police shooting at the time.
