Vanessa Denyce Reese, a 24-year-old Hispanic female, was found dead in Fairbanks, Alaska on February 22, 2017. She was born March 5, 1992 in Dallas, Texas, and at the time of her death lived in Fairbanks, where she worked as a health and safety coordinator for Thrivalaska Headstart and as a certified nurse assistant at the Denali Center.
Her death was determined to be homicide by gun violence.
Investigators treating the death as an apparent murder-suicide reported that a man with the surname Tran fatally shot Reese, then killed himself.
There is no public record of any arrest of anyone else in connection with her death, because the suspected perpetrator, Tran, died at the scene.
