On February 16, 2019, 42-year-old Brian Francis Wetmore was fatally shot in an apartment near Earthquake Park on Anchorage's west side. Responding to a call just before 1 p.m., police found Wetmore suffering from a gunshot wound; he was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
