On the morning of December 13, 2019, emergency responders found 46 years old, white male, Clayton Nelson gravely wounded in a car that had pulled into the West Fred Meyer parking lot in Fairbanks, Alaska; friends had been trying to rush him toward the hospital after he was shot. An ambulance carried him the rest of the way to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The loss was recorded publicly that day as a fatal shooting in Fairbanks.
