On May 30, 1994, David "Barry" McNulty was fatally shot while working as a clerk at the Garden Island Party Store on Illinois Street in Fairbanks, Alaska. The incident occurred at the end of his shift, and it appeared that a robbery had taken place, as the cash register was emptied. The Fairbanks Police Department responded to a panic alarm at 11:07 PM and discovered McNulty deceased at the scene.
