On January 27, 2003, 30-year-old Fela H. Avery was found shot to death in a wooded area adjacent to a walking trail on the Old Richardson Highway near the Athletic Club building in Fairbanks, Alaska. His death was ruled a homicide, and the case remains unsolved.

Fela Avery was born on June 24, 1972. He was the son of Charles Hill, a U.S. fugitive who hijacked a plane to Cuba in 1971 and has lived there since. Hill never met his son, as Fela was born after the hijacking incident. Tragicall ...
