On January 9, 2022, in the small community of Point Lay, Alaska, 51-year-old resident Justin Labrado was fatally shot. The North Slope Borough Police Department responded to a call at a local residence around 4:20 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Labrado with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
