On August 10, 2024, 35-year-old Brandon Lee was fatally shot in his apartment located in Birmingham's Collegeville Housing Community. The incident occurred just before midnight in the 3000 block of 30th Avenue North. Responding officers from the North Precinct discovered Lee and an adult female inside the apartment, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene, while the female victim was transported to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
