On February 16, 2024, 36-year-old Talton "T.J." Tait was among four men fatally shot in a drive-by shooting at a neighborhood car wash in Birmingham, Alabama's College Hills neighborhood. The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. near the 900 block of Center Street North, across from the Smithfield Court public housing community.
