On January 21, 2014, 27-year-old Derrick "Reebop" DeWayne Greene was found shot to death on the sidewalk in the 2900 block of Avenue T in Ensley, Birmingham, Alabama. The incident appeared to have resulted from a shootout, possibly linked to a drug deal. Another individual, also wounded during the altercation, was later admitted to Princeton Baptist Medical Center for treatment.
