On September 2, 2019, 46-year-old Eduardo Diaz Vasquez was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue West, where officers from the Birmingham Police Department's West Precinct responded to reports of a person shot. Upon arrival, they discovered Vasquez unresponsive, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel.
