On May 20, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a trespassing call in the 3400 block of 17th Avenue North. Upon arrival, they discovered 37-year-old Demarcus Moore lying unresponsive in the front yard of a residence, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced him deceased.
