In the summer of 2019, the life of 17-year-old Ahkii Tavon Washington-Scruggs was tragically cut short. A student and promising football player at Dunbar High School in Washington, D.C., Ahkii was known for his athletic talents. On the evening of Friday, July 19, 2019, police responded to a call for a welfare check at an apartment in the 1100 block of Queen Street, Northeast.
