Roger Tom Marmet, a 22-year-old social worker from Washington, D.C., was tragically killed on October 24, 2018. Marmet was driving along the 1200 block of 17th Street, NE around 6 p.m. when he was struck by a stray bullet. The incident occurred as he was commuting home from his job at the nonprofit organization So Others Might Eat (SOME), where he helped recovering substance abuse addicts re-enter the workforce.
