On February 23, 2014, at approximately 3:29 AM, Daniel Calvin Short, aged 36, was shot and killed in the 400 block of Florida Avenue, NE, Washington, D.C. The incident occurred early in the morning as Short was leaving a social outing. Metropolitan Police responded to the scene and launched an investigation into the homicide.
