On September 5, 2015, Malik Thomas, age 21, was shot and killed in the 400 block of Xenia Street, Southeast Washington, D.C. The incident occurred at approximately 9:16 p.m. Police discovered Thomas in a vehicle that had been set ablaze. This brutal crime left his remains badly charred, complicating the investigation.
