On December 24, 2022, Richard Antonio Joseph, a 50-year-old resident of Alexandria, Virginia, was fatally shot outside the Afro Lounge in Northwest Washington, D.C. The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. in the 3600 block of Georgia Avenue NW, near the George Avenue-Petworth Metro station.
