On May 31, 2023, 29-year-old Anthony James Embry was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 2:00 PM, East Precinct officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 900 block of 52nd Way North. Upon arrival, they entered a residence and discovered Embry suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
