In the late hours of a Friday in Birmingham, Alabama, a dispute escalated to a fatal conclusion, leaving one man dead. The incident, which unfolded on April 21, 2023, claimed the life of 44-year-old Venture Conard Harrison. The male victim was at the Town & Country convenience store located on Dennison Avenue Southwest when an argument broke out.
The verbal altercation turned violent when a firearm was introduced. Shots were fired, and Harrison was struck by the gunfire. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and Harrison was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
In the days following the shooting, the Birmingham Police Department identified a person of interest in connection with the homicide. Homicide detectives were able to locate and take the individual into custody for questioning. As the investigation progressed, the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office was consulted.
