On October 31, 2023, at approximately 6:19 a.m., a fatal head-on collision occurred on John Hawkins Parkway near Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover, Alabama. A Lexus RX 350, traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes, collided head-on with a Nissan Rogue. The occupants of the Nissan, 64-year-old Teresa Darlene Doss Roberts and her husband, 67-year-old George Raymond Roberts, both from Bessemer, were pronounced dead at the scene.
