On the morning of September 10, 2020, eight-year-old Serris Serenity Ishiqua Prude was involved in a fatal multi-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 31 in Hoover, Alabama. The incident occurred near the Hoover Square shopping center when a 1996 GMC heavy-duty truck, driven by 46-year-old Christopher Shane Anagnos, collided with the rear of the Prude family's 2010 Honda Fit, which was stopped in traffic. The impact propelled the Honda into a 2017 Lexus GX460, which then struck a 2018 Ford F-150.
