On April 8, 2023, at approximately 3 a.m., 23-year-old Ja'Korian Rashad Maiden was fatally shot at a Shell gas station in the 600 block of Decatur Highway in Fultondale, Alabama. Responding officers from the Fultondale Police Department found Maiden suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
