On November 9, 2023, 19-year-old Dakota R. Lamons was fatally struck in a hit-and-run incident in Cullman County, Alabama. At approximately 6:46 p.m., Lamons was riding his bicycle along Alabama Highway 91 near County Road 501, about eight miles south of Hanceville, when he was hit by a vehicle. The impact ejected him from the bicycle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
