On June 22, 2023, at approximately 10:05 a.m., Anniston Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 4300 block of Skyline Drive, located in the Saks community of Anniston, Alabama. While en route, officers were informed of several vehicles rapidly departing the scene. They intercepted one such vehicle near the intersection of Noble Street and 21st Street, where they discovered 39-year-old Anniston resident Traveno L. Burnett deceased from a gunshot wound.
