In January 2023, the Anniston, Alabama community was shaken by the tragic death of six-year-old Jessie Taylor McCormack. On January 18, 2023, Anniston police responded to a call at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center, where Jessie was found unconscious and exhibiting injuries consistent with severe child abuse. He was subsequently transferred to Children's of Alabama in Birmingham, where he succumbed to his injuries on January 20, 2023.
